Reporting directly to the Electrical Foreman, the selected individual will prioritize the safety of both themselves and their colleagues while performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all underground electrical systems and equipment. The role demands a strong commitment to compliance, ensuring that all personnel—including employees and subcontractors—possess the necessary certifications and training to operate safely and effectively.

Oversee daily maintenance operations and assign responsibilities to fitters and apprentices as needed.

Perform preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of motors, controls, process controls, and instrumentation in a safe and effective manner.

Performs both preventative and corrective maintenance on underground fixed plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems, including the disassembly and replacement of worn or broken components and the realignment of equipment.

Operates process calibrators and controllers to configure, program, calibrate, and initiate plant instrumentation and control systems.

Conduct thorough assessments of electrical equipment, electronic systems, and telemetry devices to verify their proper and efficient operation.

Recommended upgrades to instrumentation and control systems should be proposed to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

This role involves developing, diagnosing, and resolving issues with electrical systems and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and performance. You will be responsible for performing programming tasks, identifying and addressing technical malfunctions, and conducting necessary repairs to maintain operational efficiency.

Perform planned electrical maintenance tasks in strict adherence to manufacturer guidelines, the Electrical Code, and established company and client operational and safety standards.
