Skilled Electrical Technician required to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial settings. The selected candidate will report to the Electrical Foreman and will prioritize both personal safety and the safety of fellow team members while maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing all underground electrical systems and equipment. Strong emphasis will be placed on adherence to compliance standards to ensure that all personnel, including employees and subcontractors, possess the necessary qualifications to perform their duties safely and effectively.

Oversee daily maintenance operations and assign tasks to fitters and apprentices as needed.

Perform preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of motors, controls, and process controls and instrumentation in a safe and effective manner.

Performs both preventative and corrective maintenance on underground fixed plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems. This includes disassembling and replacing worn or broken components as well as realigning equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Operates process calibrators and controllers to configure, program, calibrate, and initiate plant instrumentation and control systems.

Conduct thorough evaluations of electrical equipment, electronic systems, and telemetry devices to verify their operational integrity.

Recommend enhancements to instrumentation and control systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. Suggest and implement upgrades that align with technological advancements and operational requirements. Evaluate current systems to identify deficiencies and propose solutions that optimize performance.

Perform programming, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and performance.

Perform routine electrical maintenance tasks in strict compliance with manufacturer guidelines, the Electrical Code, and established company and client operational protocols and safety standards.

• Determine and arrange the necessary resources for each project, including tools, equipment, additional staff, or assistants, to facilitate efficient and timely task completion while optimizing overall productivity.

Accurately complete all service sheets and meticulously record any supplementary repairs executed during each assignment.

Diagnose existing issues and forecast potential failures, offering strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance system reliability.

Read, analyze, and apply information from service and spare parts manuals to ensure accurate understanding and implementation of technical instructions.

Perform routine assessments of systems and necessary equipment to ensure operational integrity and adherence to standards.

Ensure meticulous housekeeping standards are consistently upheld throughout the shop and at all job sites.

Strong proficiency in analytical frameworks and quantitative techniques is needed. The ideal candidate should have experience with statistical modeling and data visualization tools. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to convey complex insights clearly. A solid understanding of business operations and the ability to translate data into actionable strategies are critical. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards is a must. A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an accredited university, along with at least five years of hands-on experience in Hard Rock Underground Mines, is required. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with a Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in Hard Rock Underground Mines.

Proficiency in the Mining Act and its associated regulatory frameworks of the Republic of Ghana is required.

Applicants are required to hold a valid Ghanaian driving license encompassing both Class C and Class E categories, with demonstrated proficiency in operating manual transmission SUVs in underground settings.
