MAA is currently recruiting skilled, experienced, and driven professionals to fill the roles with Electrical-Instrumentation Technician, Radio Technician, and Auto Electrician for its team. Electrical-Instrumentation Technician

Responsibilities include installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems in compliance with safety and industry standards. Duties involve reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to ensure accurate system operation. Collaboration with engineers and other technicians to diagnose issues and implement solutions is essential. Routine tasks include testing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting work for compliance and reporting purposes.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a technical certification in electrical or instrumentation technology. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is necessary. Proficiency in reading technical diagrams and using diagnostic tools is required. Knowledge of industry regulations, safety protocols, and quality control standards is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this role.

Reporting directly to the Electrical Foreman, the selected candidate will uphold personal safety and that of their coworkers while performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all underground electrical systems and equipment. The incumbent will prioritize strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring all individuals—including employees and subcontractors—possess the necessary competencies to operate securely and effectively.

Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, managing team performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Additionally, the role involves coordinating cross-functional projects, analyzing data to drive strategic decisions, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The position requires strong leadership skills, proficiency in project management tools, and the ability to mentor junior staff. Other key tasks encompass budget tracking, stakeholder communication, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency. Perform preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of motors, controls, process controls, and instrumentation in a safe and effective manner.

• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on underground fixed plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems; disassembles and replaces worn or broken parts; realigns equipment.

Operates process calibrators and controllers to configure, program, calibrate, and initiate plant instrumentation and control systems.

• Inspect electrical equipment, electronic systems and telemetry equipment for proper operation.

Recommending enhancements for instrumentation and control systems is a key responsibility of this role. This includes assessing current configurations and identifying opportunities for modernization and efficiency improvements. By evaluating technological advancements and operational needs, the position requires proposing strategic upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability of systems.

Responsibilities include developing, debugging, and maintaining electrical equipment through programming, troubleshooting, and repair tasks.

Perform scheduled electrical maintenance tasks in strict adherence to manufacturer guidelines, the Electrical Code, and both company and client standard operating procedures and safety protocols.

Identify and compile the necessary resources—including tools, equipment, and additional staff—for each project to facilitate efficient task execution and timely completion, thereby optimizing overall productivity.

• Ensure all service sheets are fully completed and accurately record any supplementary repairs undertaken during each task.

Diagnose potential issues and system failures proactively, offering actionable solutions and preventive measures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Analyze and understand service and spare parts manuals to ensure accurate application of their contents.

Conduct routine assessments of systems and mandated equipment to ensure operational integrity.

Ensure that housekeeping standards remain consistently high both within the shop and at all job sites.

Seeking a candidate with proficiency in project management software, advanced Excel skills, and strong written and verbal communication abilities. Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools is essential. The ideal applicant will demonstrate problem-solving capabilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, experience with CRM systems and proficiency in industry-specific software are required. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field is necessary.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an accredited university is required, along with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in hard rock underground mining environments. Alternatively, candidates holding a Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering must demonstrate at least a decade of relevant experience in the same field.

Proficient knowledge of the Mining Act and its associated regulatory frameworks in the Republic of Ghana is essential.

Applicants are required to hold a current Ghanaian driving license, specifically Classes C and E, and must demonstrate proficiency in operating a manual transmission SUV in underground environments.
