JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duty stations for this position include Kong and Exist.

Conducting between 15 and 20 household surveys daily forms a core responsibility of this role.

Prospect for potential clients by analyzing and interpreting survey data to identify promising leads.

To establish clear boundaries for the designated working zones for proposed teams.

Facilitate conversations with the designated target members in small-group settings to gather insights and foster productive dialogue.

A team of five members will be assembled to collaborate on various tasks and projects.

A designated individual will be chosen to lead each small group, ensuring effective coordination and guidance.

Formulate and lead a high-level management committee comprising a substantial group of members to oversee and direct organizational strategies and initiatives.

A comprehensive two-week orientation program will be provided to all new members of large groups, ensuring a thorough introduction to organizational protocols and team dynamics.

Collect members’ admission fees in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the BRAD Ghana circular.

• Responsible for entering the group members’ admission data into mobile phones or tablets and ensuring synchronization whenever feasible.

Schedule meetings by coordinating suitable dates, times, and locations, ensuring all relevant parties are available, and the venue is appropriately booked.

Form a group comprising a minimum of 15 members for Microfinance (MF) and 10 members for Agra-Finance, with a maximum of 30 members for MF and 20 members for Agra-Finance.

Responsibilities include enrolling new participants when group membership declines, whether caused by attrition or other factors.

Convene two to three group sessions daily to facilitate collaborative discussions and progress tracking.

Conducted meetings are scheduled at 08:30 AM for the first session, 09:30 AM for the second, and 10:30 AM for the third, with potential adjustments based on office availability.

Ensure you arrive at the designated meeting location fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the group session.

Organize the participants into small groups and position them in a U-shape arrangement.

Responsible for accurately documenting and maintaining attendance records in the designated register, ensuring all entries are completed promptly and in accordance with established procedures.

We welcome inquiries regarding various loan-related topics as well as other pertinent financial matters to ensure clarity and informed decision-making.

• Gather weekly installment deposits from small group leaders via their designated cashiers, ensuring each transaction is documented with a signature on a mobile device.

Return to the office no later than 1:30 PM following the conclusion of the group meetings.

Cash collected from group meetings held in proximity to a branch must be deposited at that branch prior to attending another group meeting, as a precaution against potential robbery.

Staff members are required to adhere strictly to established safety and security protocols when handling the transportation of funds.

Review all member-submitted loan proposals to ensure they are thoroughly evaluated and deliberated during the scheduled group meetings.

Loan proposals will be accepted via verbal votes conducted in the presence of all group members.

The credit officer is responsible for accurately inputting all loan-related information into the digital system, including loan applications and guarantor details extracted from DP Notes.

After confirming the accuracy of loan applications, establish the disbursement date and promptly notify the relevant members.

You must be physically present on the scheduled disbursement day to actively engage in the disbursement activities.

The credit officer is required to participate in weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly group meetings and must guarantee the full repayment of all loan installments.

Cash received must be promptly submitted to the Branch Accountant, who will then record the deposited amount in the Daily Cash Report (DCR) and provide a signature as confirmation.

If a borrower misses an installment during the morning group meeting, proceed to collect the payment later that afternoon by visiting the borrower’s residence or the home of the designated small group leader.

Initiate the collection process for overdue payments and NBL installments during the afternoon, concurrently handling current delinquencies.

Initiate the recovery process for loans previously written off for clients who express interest in re-establishing their relationship with BRAD.

Attend the weekly staff meetings as scheduled to ensure active participation and contribution to team discussions.

Compile regular reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to provide comprehensive insights and updates.

Adhere to all guidelines and protocols outlined in the BRAD Human Resources Policies and Procedures.

• Complete additional duties as assigned by senior leadership with efficiency and professionalism.

To foster a comprehensive safeguarding culture throughout every tier of the organization, the role will involve the implementation of the safeguarding policy, ensuring its principles are integrated into all institutional operations and practices.

Demonstrate leadership by providing essential guidance, support, and specialized knowledge in safeguarding to foster a secure and compliant workplace.

Ensures team members receive appropriate training, support, and access to necessary resources to address identified issues in compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Should any reportable incident occur, it is essential to adhere to the safeguarding reporting procedure and actively promote its use among others.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Proven expertise in software development, with a strong foundation in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and proficiency in DevOps practices and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of database management systems, such as SQL or NoSQL, and familiarity with data modeling and optimization techniques.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum, and the ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the capacity to analyze complex issues and implement effective, scalable solutions.
• Strong communication abilities to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with version control systems like Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Familiarity with security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and compliance standards.
• Ability to lead technical projects, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

We require applicants to possess at least a Senior High School certificate, specifically the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

• Handling cash and bank transactions, including the preparation of cash requisitions and cash certificates as well as conducting bank reconciliation statements.

Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel applications.

Candidates should possess a minimum of one year of professional experience within the microfinance or broader financial services sector.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is essential.

Effective verbal and written communication abilities are essential for this role.
