Duties are performed under the direct oversight of the Project Manager.
Oversee the execution of project activities throughout the designated region, guaranteeing that all initiatives are completed in alignment with approved work plans, established timelines, allocated budgets, and applicable carbon standards—including Terra, Gold Standard, or other relevant certification frameworks.
Facilitate the integration and widespread adoption of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable rice production practices among enrolled farmers.
Engage and collaborate with rice farmers, Water User Associations (Was), community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and active participation.
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading training sessions, demonstration plots, and farmer field learning activities focused on sustainable agriculture, crop management, efficient water use, AWD practices, and other climate-smart interventions.
Facilitate the installation, ongoing monitoring, and maintenance of AWD tubes, sensors, and related field technologies, while also providing support for the deployment and utilization of digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems.
Coordinate field data collection and ensure rigorous monitoring of soil organic carbon (SOC), greenhouse gas emission reductions, water usage, crop yields, farm management practices, and additional project indicators essential for accurate carbon accounting and verification processes.
Ensure meticulous maintenance of project records, databases, and documentation, adhering to carbon certification requirements and established project reporting standards.
Foster and sustain effective collaborative partnerships with GINA regional offices, District Assemblies, traditional authorities, farmer organizations, community stakeholders, and project partners.
Prepare and deliver accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that comprehensively document project advancements, field operations, success narratives, key learnings, and both challenges overcome and milestones achieved.
Facilitate project validation, verification, audit procedures, and the compilation of reports and documentation necessary for project partners, carbon certification bodies, auditors, and validators.
To proactively address and mitigate potential implementation risks, devise comprehensive mitigation strategies, and facilitate the resolution of operational challenges with efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain adherence to environmental and social safeguards, donor stipulations, project policies, and all relevant regulatory and carbon market standards.
Supervise and mentor field officers, community facilitators, enumerators, and other relevant personnel to uphold high standards of project execution and ensure the attainment of established project goals.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Candidates must possess proficiency in written and verbal communication, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in collaborative team settings. Experience with project management tools, data analysis, and report generation is essential. Familiarity with industry-specific software and strong problem-solving skills are also prerequisites. A Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields is required: Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Rural Development, Climate Change, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

A minimum of five years of professional experience in agricultural development, climate change initiatives, natural resource management, rural development, or comparable projects is required.
