The position is based in the Greater Accra, Volta, Northern, and Upper East Regions of Ghana.
• Supervisory Role: Project Manager
• Responsibilities Include: Delivering project updates, ensuring adherence to timelines, and managing team workflows to meet objectives.
• Requirements: Proficiency in project management tools, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Oversee the execution of project initiatives across the designated region, guaranteeing that all deliverables align with approved work plans, established timelines, allocated budgets, and pertinent carbon standards—including Terra, Gold Standard, or other applicable certification frameworks.
Facilitate the execution and integration of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable rice production methodologies among collaborating farmers.
Engage and rally rice farmers, Water User Associations (Was), community leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure active involvement and successful execution of the project.
Organize and lead training sessions, demonstration plots, and farmer field learning activities focused on sustainable agriculture, crop management, efficient water use, alternate wetting and drying (AWD) practices, and other climate-smart interventions.
Facilitate the installation, oversight, and upkeep of AWD tubes, sensors, and additional field technologies while also aiding in the deployment and utilization of digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems.
Coordinate the collection of on-site data and supervise the tracking of key project indicators, including soil organic carbon (SOC), greenhouse gas emission reductions, water usage, crop yields, farm management practices, and other metrics essential for carbon accounting and verification processes.
Maintain precise records, databases, and documentation in accordance with carbon certification standards and established project reporting protocols.
Forge and sustain effective collaborations with GINA regional offices, District Assemblies, traditional authorities, farmer organizations, community stakeholders, and project partners.
Prepare and deliver accurate, timely weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that encompass project progress updates, field activity summaries, success narratives, lessons learned, as well as detailed documentation of both challenges faced and milestones achieved.
Assist in the validation, verification, and audit processes of projects while ensuring the compilation of all necessary reports and documentation for project partners, carbon certification bodies, auditors, and validators.
Identify potential risks associated with implementation, formulate and execute mitigation strategies, and facilitate the timely resolution of operational issues to maintain efficiency.
Ensure adherence to environmental and social safeguards, donor mandates, project policies, and all relevant regulatory and carbon market standards to maintain full compliance throughout operations.
Oversee and mentor field officers, community facilitators, enumerators, and other relevant project staff to uphold high standards in project execution and successfully meet established objectives.
