• The initiative involves the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) Carbon Project, a specialized program designed to optimize water use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in rice cultivation.

Oversee the execution of project activities across the designated region, guaranteeing that all deliverables align with approved work plans, established timelines, allocated budgets, and recognized carbon standards—including Terra, Gold Standard, or other pertinent certification frameworks.
We facilitate the adoption and implementation of climate-smart agricultural practices, including Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), regenerative agriculture methods, and sustainable rice production techniques among participating farmers.
Engage and rally rice farmers, Water User Associations (Was), community leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure active participation and successful project execution.
Organize and lead training programs, demonstration plots, and farmer field learning sessions focused on sustainable agriculture, crop management, efficient water use, Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) practices, and other climate-smart agricultural techniques.
Facilitate the installation, ongoing monitoring, and regular maintenance of AWD tubes, sensors, and other field-based technologies, while also providing support for the deployment and utilization of digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems.
Coordinate field data collection efforts and manage the monitoring of key project indicators, including soil organic carbon levels, greenhouse gas emission reductions, water usage, crop yields, and farm management practices, all of which are essential for accurate carbon accounting and verification processes.
Maintain precise documentation of project records, databases, and files in strict adherence to carbon certification mandates and established project reporting protocols.
Establish and nurture productive partnerships with GINA regional offices, District Assemblies, traditional leaders, farmer groups, local stakeholders, and all project collaborators.
Prepare and submit timely reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, encompassing project progress updates, field activity records, success stories, lessons learned, as well as detailed documentation of challenges and achievements.
• Assist with the validation, verification, and audit processes of projects while ensuring the preparation of all necessary reports and documentation, as mandated by project partners, carbon certification bodies, auditors, and validators.
• Assess potential risks associated with implementation activities, formulate and implement mitigation strategies, and facilitate the efficient resolution of operational issues.
Ensure strict adherence to environmental and social safeguards, donor stipulations, project policies, and all regulatory and carbon market frameworks applicable to the role.
Supervise and mentor field officers, community facilitators, enumerators, and other relevant project staff to uphold high standards of work quality and ensure the successful attainment of project goals.
