MAA is looking to hire a skilled, experienced, and driven Electrician to strengthen our Electrical Team. This is a fixed-term contract role based in Quasi, offering a competitive employment schedule at our operational site. Reporting to the Electrical Foreman, the selected individual will uphold safety standards for themselves and their colleagues while maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing underground electrical systems and equipment. The role prioritizes strict adherence to compliance protocols to verify that all personnel, including employees and subcontractors, possess the necessary qualifications to perform their duties safely and effectively.
Oversee daily maintenance operations and assign duties to fitters and apprentices accordingly.
Safely and effectively conduct preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting for motors, controls, process controls, and instrumentation.
Performs regular preventative and corrective maintenance on underground fixed plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems, including disassembly and replacement of worn or damaged components and realignment of equipment as needed.
Operates process calibrators and controllers to configure, program, calibrate, and initiate plant instrumentation and control systems.
Conduct thorough inspections of electrical equipment, electronic systems, and telemetry devices to verify their proper functioning and adherence to operational standards.
Suggest enhancements to instrumentation and control systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
Perform programming tasks, diagnose issues, and conduct repairs on electrical equipment to maintain optimal functionality and performance.
Conduct scheduled electrical maintenance tasks in strict compliance with manufacturer guidelines, the Electrical Code, and established company and client operational standards and safety procedures.
To streamline workflows and uphold operational efficiency, assess and coordinate the necessary resources for each assignment—including tools, equipment, and supplemental staff—to guarantee timely task completion and optimize overall productivity.
Prepare and finalize all service documentation, recording any supplementary repairs carried out during each assignment to ensure comprehensive and accurate records are maintained.

Proficiently review and analyze service and spare parts manuals to extract critical information, ensuring accurate understanding and application of the provided guidelines.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited university, complemented by at least five years of hands-on experience in hard rock underground mining operations, is required. Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering must demonstrate a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in the same mining environment.
Proficient knowledge of the Mining Act and its associated regulatory framework in the Republic of Ghana is essential.
Applicants must hold a current Ghanaian driving license for Classes C and E, with proficiency in operating manual transmission SUVs in underground environments.
