Purpose Statement

To uphold the operational integrity and safe functionality of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, tanks, valves, and pipelines, at the LPG tank farm in Ghana. This role ensures strict adherence to regulatory standards set forth by EPA Ghana, Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), and the Department of Factories Inspectorate.

Key Deliverables

Perform routine inspections and upkeep tasks to ensure optimal functioning and longevity of equipment, systems, and infrastructure, thereby minimizing potential failures and disruptions. Conduct systematic checks, lubrication, adjustments, and replacements as necessary, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards. Document all maintenance activities, identify recurring issues, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance schedules with operational demands and safety protocols. Possess a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems, depending on the specific role requirements. Maintain compliance with regulatory mandates and organizational policies to uphold workplace safety and environmental standards.

Inspect welds, flanges, and hoses for any signs of leaks to ensure compliance with LPG Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HESSE) regulations in Ghana.

Proficiently diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting pumps, compressors, and pipeline systems.

Replace deteriorated or damaged components using only materials that meet the required standards and regulatory approvals.

Monitor pressure vessels, relief valves, and tank integrity to ensure compliance with GSA standards and regulatory obligations.

Compile and document performance logs to support internal assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Prepare maintenance reports for internal documentation and regulatory compliance purposes.

Oversee mechanical contractors and vendors to ensure full compliance with Ghana’s established safety regulations and standards.

Compiles and submits detailed reports on depot equipment status for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual review by management and key stakeholders.

• Oversee the setup, installation, and maintenance of depot mechanical and panel systems, cooling units, pumps, tanks, piping and associated components, metering systems, power generators, and general facility infrastructure. Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues is essential.

Conduct work appraisals, perform costing analyses, nominate and approve vendors, justify approvals, and oversee work execution to ensure adherence to approved quality standards and volume specifications.

Conduct routine inspections of equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual basis, implementing both in-house and outsourced preventive maintenance strategies to minimize overall equipment breakdown maintenance costs.

Collaborate effectively with colleagues to help achieve the organization’s strategic objectives.
