This position involves supervising day-to-day accounting functions and handling financial transactions. In collaboration with the Country Director, the Finance and Administration Officer guarantees transparent and equitable procurement of goods and services while adhering to Spark’s procurement and financial guidelines. The role is also responsible for overseeing office administration, strategic planning, coordination, and the execution of other essential tasks to support Spark’s leadership team in Ghana. We seek highly qualified candidates with a demonstrated history of excellence in financial management and administrative oversight.

Responsible for managing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. Develops and implements financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational objectives. Prepares and presents accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, in accordance with GAAP or IFRS. Conducts variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommends corrective actions. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance and drive cost efficiencies. Provides financial insights and recommendations to senior management to enhance profitability and sustainability. Ensures timely and accurate tax filings, compliance with tax laws, and effective tax planning strategies. Manages cash flow, liquidity, and investment activities to support business growth. Leads financial audits and ensures adherence to audit findings and recommendations.

Handle administrative duties and coordinate logistics efficiently to support organizational operations. Manage documentation, scheduling, and resource allocation while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth workflows and address logistical challenges promptly. Maintain accurate records, track inventory, and oversee supply chain activities as needed.

Oversee the financial operations and accounting functions, which entail conducting daily bookkeeping tasks, reconciling cash balances, and handling all bank-related correspondence for the Ghana office.

Oversee the monthly financial close process and ensure accurate account reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.

Engage actively in both internal and external audit processes to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations. Contribute to the preparation, execution, and follow-up phases of audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence. Assist in identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as required.

Facilitate the annual planning and budgeting process to ensure alignment with organizational goals and efficient resource allocation.

Receive and periodically review financial progress reports submitted by Partners, subsequently initiating appropriate measures based on their performance metrics.

Deliver training sessions to Partner staff, enhancing their skills to effectively plan, implement, monitor, and report on funds received.

• Provide leadership and direction to the day-to-day administrative operations of Spark in Ghana.

Assist in facilitating the seamless integration of new team members by collaborating on the onboarding process, which involves configuring workstations and ensuring access to essential tools and materials.

Coordinate all program-related logistics, ensuring the seamless transportation and accommodation of staff and stakeholders.

You will oversee the procurement and maintenance of office supplies and program materials, guaranteeing that inventory levels remain sufficient to meet operational demands at all times.

Oversee the proper distribution and upkeep of office equipment, including computers, printers, and phones, to maintain their functionality and ensure their availability when required.

Responsibilities include managing the upkeep of office facilities while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
