Conduct tests and procedures in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide on-the-job training to colleagues.

Execute analytical assignments efficiently within stringent deadlines, while providing guidance and support to junior laboratory personnel under your direction.

Accurately and safely perform routine maintenance and performance checks on equipment, operating under minimal supervision, while promptly reporting any faults to the Unit Supervisor.

Adhere to established protocols while demonstrating a conscientious commitment to upholding the cleanliness and operational integrity of laboratory equipment and facilities.

Utilize the laboratory computer system to perform the following tasks:

Process incoming requests and accurately align them with the corresponding patient records.

Produce and finalize printed reports by entering and processing the results.

Develop and compile comprehensive worksheets containing detailed lists to support project objectives and operational tasks.

Conduct comprehensive testing to accurately identify and confirm the presence of microorganisms, ensuring precise and reliable results.

Perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing as required to determine the efficacy of various antibiotics against microbial pathogens.

Proficiently operate a variety of automated machinery and apply established manual methods with precision and skill.

Perform assays utilizing suitable analyzers and interpret the results, including their implications and significance.

Conduct necessary quality inspections and accurately document findings on the prescribed quality record sheets as mandated.

Demonstrate consistent, professional communication with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and clients to ensure alignment and clarity in all interactions.

Able to collaborate productively within a diverse healthcare team consisting of various professionals at the facility.

Collaborate effectively and collegially with Laboratory Attendants and other Laboratory Assistants to ensure smooth laboratory operations and foster a productive team environment.

Participate actively in staff meetings by sharing insights, updates, and constructive contributions to foster collaborative decision-making and alignment with organizational goals.

Maintain a personal performance log and an in-service training log to facilitate appraisal processes.

Required qualifications include strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and generate detailed reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively conveying information to diverse stakeholders. Attention to detail is critical for maintaining accuracy in all tasks. The candidate must possess organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently. A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is required. Prior experience in project coordination or a similar role is preferred.

Hold a recognized Technician Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Demonstrated professional experience of at least one year within the specified field is required.

Demonstrated expertise and consistent achievement in laboratory operations are essential qualifications for this role.

Demonstrated expertise in adhering to established ethical standards and protocols within the field of laboratory medicine is required.
