A private hospital seeks a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician to perform and support the timely processing, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of laboratory test results from received specimens within the Laboratory department, thereby ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical technical services and patient care.

Conduct tests and procedures in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide on-the-job training to colleagues.

Perform analytical duties efficiently within strict deadlines while providing guidance and support to junior laboratory personnel to ensure their tasks are completed accurately.

Accurately and safely perform routine maintenance and performance inspections on equipment with minimal oversight, promptly reporting any faults to the Unit Supervisor.

Adhere to established protocols and demonstrate a conscientious commitment to ensuring laboratory equipment and facilities are consistently maintained in optimal condition.

Employ laboratory information management systems for the purpose of executing tasks such as data entry, sample tracking, and report generation, ensuring compliance with established protocols and maintaining data integrity throughout all processes.

Input requests are processed and matched with corresponding patient records to ensure accurate and efficient data alignment.

Compiles data and produces printed reports based on the results entered.

Compiles and produces comprehensive worksheets, which include detailed lists, to support various operational and reporting needs.

Conduct comprehensive diagnostic testing to accurately verify the identity of microorganisms.

Conduct antimicrobial susceptibility testing to evaluate the effectiveness of various antimicrobial agents against bacterial or fungal pathogens.

Able to proficiently operate both automated machinery and traditional manual methods, ensuring precision and efficiency in all tasks.

Conduct assays utilizing suitable analyzers while interpreting the significance and practical implications of the resulting data.

Perform necessary quality inspections and document findings on the appropriate quality record sheets as mandated.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the facility head.

Consistently engage in clear and professional communication with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and clients to ensure alignment and foster productive relationships.

Able to collaborate productively within a diverse healthcare team comprising various professionals at the facility.

Collaborate effectively with Laboratory Attendants and other Laboratory Assistants in a professional and cooperative manner.

Participate actively in staff meetings to share insights and collaborate on relevant discussions.

Maintain a personal record of performance metrics as well as an in-service training log to facilitate appraisal processes.

Required competencies include proficiency in data analysis, project management, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with statistical software or programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting findings to stakeholders. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under tight deadlines are critical for success in this role. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is mandatory.

Hold an Associate Degree or Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of one year of practical experience in the specified field.
