Project Name: NBS Guinean Forest
Call For Small And Medium Enterprises In Bosomtwe Landscape And Wassa Amenfi Landscape To Benefit From Its Business Grant Challenge Of The Nbs Guinean Forest Project To Support Businesses Incorporating Nature-Based Solutions In Their Operations In Ghana.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Bosomtwe landscape: Bosomtwe and Bosome Freho Districts
Wassa Amenfi landscape: Wassa Amenfi West, Wassa Amenfi East and Wassa Amenfi Central
• These are businesses with one or more employees, or a cooperative (group) led by women Groups or companies with at least 80% female members;
• Female leadership – the structure must be headed by a woman;
• Activities operating in one of the following priority sectors:
• Agricultural production (food crops, market gardening, livestock farming, fish farming) managed by women;
• Agri-food processing (fish, gari, cocoa, etc.);
• Valorization of agricultural by-products and waste from cocoa or other sectors (Agriculture);
• Bakery and local catering services run by women;
• Activities that do not generate any loss of biodiversity or negative impact on ecosystems;
• Belonging to one of the 17 communities targeted by the project in the landscapes of Wassa Amenfi and Lake Bosomtwe.
• The business or proposed business idea demonstrates significant job creation potential (for youth and women).
• The business must have been in existence for at least 12 months.
• They must request a grant in the form of cash, equipment, or productivity-improvement training, or a combination of all three.
• Provide a co-financing contribution of at least 5% of the total grant amount.
• Individual grant amounts offered by the project must not exceed CAD 10,000 per entity (with equipment grants being prioritized).
• Priority will be given to the ability to utilize the applicable grants within three months of initial receipt.
• These are businesses with more than three employees, or a cooperative (group) led by women or men.
• The business or proposed business idea has the potential to primarily represent women’s interests.
• The business or proposed business idea demonstrates significant job creation potential (for youth and women).
• The business must have been in existence for at least 12 months.
• They must request a grant in the form of cash, equipment, or productivity-improvement training, or a combination of all three.
• Provide a co-financing contribution of at least 2% of the total grant amount.
• Cash grants offered by the project must not exceed CAD 15,000 per individual entity (with equipment grants being prioritized).
• Priority will be given to the ability to utilize the applicable grants within three months of initial receipt.
