The position operates under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
Responsible for managing the execution of project initiatives in the designated area, guaranteeing that all deliverables align with approved work plans, established timelines, allocated budgets, and recognized carbon standards—including Terra, Gold Standard, or other pertinent certification frameworks.
Provide guidance and facilitate the execution and integration of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable rice production techniques for participating farmers.
Engage rice farmers, Water User Associations (Was), community leaders, and other stakeholders to mobilize active involvement and ensure successful project implementation.
• Design, coordinate, and deliver training sessions, demonstration plots, and farmer field learning activities focused on sustainable agriculture, crop management, efficient water use, Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) practices, and other climate-smart interventions.
Facilitate the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of AWD tubes, sensors, and other field technologies while providing support for the deployment and utilization of digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems.
Oversee the coordination of field data collection efforts while ensuring the accurate monitoring of key project indicators, including soil organic carbon (SOC), greenhouse gas emissions reductions, water usage, crop yields, farm management practices, and other metrics critical for carbon accounting and verification processes.
Maintain precise project records, databases, and documentation to adhere to carbon certification requirements and reporting standards.
• Foster and sustain productive collaborations with GINA regional offices, District Assemblies, traditional authorities, farmer organizations, community stakeholders, and project partners.
Prepare and deliver accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports encompassing project progress updates, field activity summaries, success stories, lessons learned, and detailed documentation of challenges and achievements—all submitted in a timely manner.
• Provide assistance throughout project validation, verification, and audit processes, ensuring all necessary reports and documentation are prepared and delivered to project partners, carbon certification bodies, auditors, and validators.
• Identify potential implementation risks, develop mitigation measures, and support the effective resolution of operational challenges.
Ensure adherence to environmental and social safeguards, donor mandates, project-specific policies, and all relevant regulatory and carbon market frameworks.
Supervise, mentor, and lead field officers, community facilitators, enumerators, and other relevant project personnel to uphold high standards in project execution and ensure successful attainment of project goals.
REQUIRED SKILLS: The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful insights. Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, to effectively convey findings to stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with statistical software and tools such as Python, R, or SQL is highly desirable, along with experience in data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
