JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duty station for this role involves travel between Kong and Exist.

Conduct between 15 and 20 household surveys daily to gather essential data and insights efficiently.

• Leverage survey findings to pinpoint prospective clients who align with target criteria, ensuring precise outreach and engagement strategies.

• Establish clear boundaries for designated work zones for proposed teams.

Engage with designated target participants in one-on-one or group discussions to thoroughly explore their perspectives and insights.

A team of five members will be assembled for each project.

A designated individual will be appointed to serve as the leader for each small group.

A significant leadership committee will be established to oversee group operations and strategic initiatives.

Conduct a comprehensive two-week orientation program tailored for large groups of new members.

Collect member admission fees from individuals in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the BRAD Ghana circular.

• Update group members’ admission details on mobile phones or tablets, ensuring data is synced at every opportunity.

Organize meeting schedules, including dates, times, and locations.

A team comprising at least 15 individuals for Microfinance (MF) and 10 for Agra-Finance, with a maximum of 30 members for MF and 20 for Agra-Finance, must be established.

Responsible for enrolling new participants when group size declines due to attrition or other circumstances.

Convene two to three group meetings daily to ensure productive collaboration and timely project progression.

The schedule for meetings is set as follows: the first meeting at 8:30 AM, the second at 9:30 AM, and the third at 10:30 AM, with the possibility of adjustments depending on office hours.

Arrive at the designated meeting location fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the group meeting.

• Organize group members into a U-shaped seating arrangement, ensuring alignment with their designated small groups.

Responsible for accurately recording student attendance in the official register at the start of each session, ensuring all entries are complete and up-to-date according to institutional policies.

• Obtain weekly installment deposits from small group leaders via their designated cashiers, ensuring digital signatures are captured on mobile devices.

Following the conclusion of the group meetings, you are expected to resume office duties by 1:30 PM.

Cash collected from group meetings held in proximity to a branch must be deposited at the branch before attending any subsequent meetings, as a precautionary measure to mitigate robbery risks.

Staff members must adhere strictly to established safety and security protocols during the transportation of funds to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Ensure all member loan proposals are reviewed and deliberated upon during group meetings.

Loan proposals are reviewed and accepted via verbal consensus among group members during meetings.

The credit officer is responsible for accurately entering all loan-related information, including loan applications and guarantor details from DP Notes, into the digital system.

After confirming the accuracy of loan applications, establish and communicate the disbursement date to the relevant members.

You must be physically present on the disbursement day to actively engage in the disbursement process.

The credit officer is responsible for attending weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly group meetings while maintaining a 100% recovery rate of loan installments.

Cash received must be promptly submitted to the Branch Accountant, who will then record the deposited amount in the Daily Cash Report (DCR) and provide a signed confirmation of the transaction.

Ensure prompt collection of any missed installments from the morning group meeting by conducting afternoon visits to the homes of borrowers or their designated small group leaders.

In the afternoon, undertake the collection of both late and NBL installments, as well as current overdue payments.

• Should former clients whose loans have been written off express interest in rejoining BRAD, initiate the process of loan recovery to facilitate their return.

Attend the weekly staff meetings as scheduled.

Compile regular reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to provide accurate and timely insights.

Adhere to all policies and procedures established by BRAD Human Resources.

Ensure timely completion of all additional tasks assigned by senior management.

Maintain strict compliance with the Microfinance staff Code of Conduct and ensure all client interactions reflect the highest standards of respect and professionalism.

Serve as a primary resource for counsel, advice, and specialized knowledge in safeguarding to foster a secure working environment.

To oversee that team members receive adequate training, support, and access to necessary resources regarding identified issues, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.

In the event of any reportable incident, you must adhere to the safeguarding reporting procedure and actively encourage others to do the same.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Possesses strong proficiency in written and verbal communication, with a focus on clarity and precision. Demonstrates exceptional organizational capabilities, including meticulous attention to detail and efficient time management. Exhibits a solid understanding of data analysis techniques, with the ability to interpret and present findings effectively. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools, along with a commitment to continuous professional development, is essential. Must be adept at collaborative work within team settings while maintaining a high standard of accountability and problem-solving acumen.

A high school diploma or its equivalent, such as the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), is required.

Responsible for managing cash and bank transactions, including the preparation of cash requisitions and cash certificates, as well as conducting bank reconciliation statements.

Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel applications.

• A minimum of one year of professional experience is required in the microfinance or financial institution sector.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is essential.

Effectively convey ideas and information with clarity and precision.

Proficient in crafting clear, concise reports and articles in English, with strong writing and communication abilities.
