JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAA is currently recruiting skilled, experienced, and driven Electrical – Instrumentation Technicians, Radio Technicians, and Auto Electricians to enhance our team. Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and components in vehicles, an Auto Electrician ensures optimal functionality of automotive electronics. This role demands expertise in reading wiring diagrams, troubleshooting faults, and performing installations of new electrical systems or upgrades. Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools is essential, alongside a strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including batteries, alternators, starters, and lighting circuits. Candidates must possess relevant certifications, such as an ASE certification, and demonstrate hands-on experience in auto electrical repair. Additionally, the ability to interpret technical manuals and adhere to safety protocols is required to ensure efficient and secure operations.

An Auto Electrician is tasked with the installation, upkeep, diagnosis, and repair of electrical and electronic systems in mining vehicles and heavy mobile equipment.

Overseeing a comprehensive range of duties, the position demands proficiency in executing strategic operational tasks, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to established protocols. Investigate, diagnose, and execute trade-related maintenance and repair tasks for equipment and machinery in alignment with specified maintenance requirements.

Perform all scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance tasks on underground mobile equipment to ensure operational reliability and safety.

Conduct electrical fault and failure diagnostics as needed.

Review defect notifications submitted via pre-start reports, breakdown sheets, and over-inspection reports to initiate corrective actions as required.

Conduct thorough equipment inspections on work completed by apprentices and operatives when necessary, offering constructive feedback and guidance as needed.

Report any malfunctions or operational failures observed in equipment and machinery promptly to the Supervisor.

Offer insightful observations to supervisors and colleagues concerning the operational efficiency and maintenance status of equipment.

Develop, customize, and install necessary equipment to ensure the safe operation of all systems under your jurisdiction. Modify existing setups as needed to meet regulatory and operational standards. Construct specialized components to address unique challenges within the designated scope.

Ensure machinery remains operational and readily available at all times to support uninterrupted production processes and workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities include assessing spare parts requirements and procuring items in accordance with established mine procedures.

Communicate with clients and supervisors to provide updates regarding maintenance activities completed and the operational status of equipment.

Ensure strict compliance with all established policies and procedures to maintain organizational standards and operational consistency.

Underground mining experience is highly beneficial for this role.
