To perform an interim assessment of the Championing Nutrition and Gender Equality (CHANGE) Project in Ghana.

Evaluate the present nutritional and health service environment as it pertains to the most disadvantaged and underserved groups—especially women and children—within the designated communities.

Review the progress of critical outcome and output-level indicators as defined in the project’s Performance Measurement Framework (PMF).

Analyze perceptions and viewpoints among community members, local stakeholders, and prospective partners concerning the production, processing, and storage of nutritious foods, food security initiatives, and efforts to strengthen community resilience.

Assess how gender-responsive nutrition strategies can be incorporated into district-level policies and programming, considering both existing opportunities and potential challenges.

Analyze contextual, programmatic, and institutional factors that either facilitate or impede progress toward established targets.

To develop actionable insights and strategic recommendations that inform project modifications and bolster overall effectiveness throughout the remainder of the implementation phase.

Primary data collection may encompass surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (Kids), and structured observation, depending on the methodology proposed.

A thorough review of secondary data must encompass project reports, baseline findings, district and regional health and nutrition data, and additional pertinent literature.

All methodologies and tools employed must facilitate disaggregation by sex and age, as applicable.

The consultant is required to implement participatory, inclusive, and ethically sound approaches while adhering to Children Believe’s stringent child safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA), data protection, and privacy policies.

The inception report should encompass a refined methodology, a detailed work plan, a structured sampling approach, a comprehensive data collection plan, and robust quality assurance arrangements.

Approved data collection instruments encompassing both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

Conduct fieldwork and gather data within the designated project areas as outlined.

• Prepare a comprehensive mid-term evaluation report that outlines key findings, detailed analysis, conclusions, and actionable recommendations.

A comprehensive mid-term evaluation report of around 30 pages (excluding annexes) must be prepared as part of the deliverables.

Providing properly sanitized datasets and analytical files, ideally in Excel format, along with all relevant supporting documentation as mutually agreed upon with Children Believe.

Candidates must possess the following essential competencies: proficiency in written and verbal communication, a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a comparable role, and the ability to analyze complex data sets to derive actionable insights. A postgraduate degree in public health, nutrition, international development, social sciences, management, sociology, social work, or a closely related field is required, with preference given to candidates holding an advanced degree.

With a minimum requirement of one decade of progressively responsible experience, you will have conducted participatory evaluations, studies, or reviews of intricate health, nutrition, maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), or gender-focused programs.
