MAA is looking for skilled, seasoned, and driven Electrical – Instrumentation Technicians, Radio Technicians, and Auto Electricians to strengthen our team. This is a fixed-term contract role based in Quasi, with a competitive work schedule at our operational site. Experienced Electrical-Instrumentation Technicians are sought for the role, responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting intricate electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure seamless operational performance. The position requires proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals, along with a strong understanding of control systems, PLCs, and SCADA software. Candidates must possess a valid electrical or instrumentation certification and demonstrate hands-on experience in industrial environments, with a keen eye for detail to identify and resolve system inefficiencies. Additional duties include conducting safety inspections, adhering to compliance standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize system functionality and reliability.

The successful candidate will report to the Electrical Foreman and prioritize safety for themselves and their colleagues while maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing underground electrical systems and equipment. The role emphasizes strict adherence to compliance standards to ensure all personnel—including employees and subcontractors—possess the necessary competencies for safe and efficient operations.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, including but not limited to strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership. Foster a collaborative work environment by delegating tasks, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback to enhance team performance. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement data-driven solutions that drive productivity and innovation. Maintain meticulous records, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to stakeholders to support informed decision-making. Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring seamless project execution and adherence to timelines. Safely and effectively conduct preventive maintenance, installations, and troubleshooting for motors, controls, process controls, and instrumentation to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

Performs both preventative and corrective maintenance on underground fixed plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems, including the disassembly and replacement of worn or broken components and realignment of equipment as required.

Operates process calibrators and controllers to systematically configure, program, calibrate, and initiate plant instrumentation and control systems.

Conduct thorough examinations of electrical equipment, electronic systems, and telemetry devices to verify their proper functioning.

Suggest enhancements to existing instrumentation and control systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and functionality.

Responsible for conducting programming, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs on electrical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.

Perform prescribed electrical maintenance tasks in strict adherence to manufacturer guidelines, the Electrical Code, and organizational protocols, ensuring full compliance with company and client standard operating procedures and safety regulations.

To ensure tasks are completed efficiently and productivity is maximized, identify and organize all necessary resources—including tools, equipment, additional personnel, or assistants—for each job assignment.

Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering may qualify if they possess a minimum of ten years of relevant industry experience in the same mining environment.

Proficiency in the Mining Act and its associated regulatory frameworks of the Republic of Ghana is required.

Applicants are required to hold a valid Ghanaian driver’s license, specifically Classes C and E, and must demonstrate proficiency in operating manual transmission SUVs in underground environments.
