Role Purpose

The Workshop Foreman/Supervisor oversees the operational readiness, dependability, safety, and peak efficiency of all vehicles, motorcycles, and machinery utilized in Exoplanet Bamboo’s plantation and field operations.

This role provides handson technical leadership while also managing workshop operations, spare parts inventory, maintenance planning, breakdown response, and coordination with the Operations teams. The position is critical to minimizing downtime, maintaining productivity targets, and ensuring safe, compliant use of fleet and equipment in demanding field conditions.

This position collaborates closely with the Operations Manager and Field Managers to maintain equipment readiness in alignment with both daily and seasonal operational demands.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of responsibilities aimed at achieving organizational goals, including leading strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring operational excellence. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to enhance efficiency and accountability across all departments. Provide expert guidance to Operations regarding any fleet constraints or potential hazards that could compromise productivity or safety.

Provide immediate technical leadership during vehicle and equipment accidents or incidents, coordinating response efforts to ensure swift and effective resolution.

Secure equipment that has been compromised, evaluate the mechanical factors contributing to the issue, and assist in conducting incident investigations.

Ensure all vehicles are restored to service only after meeting stringent safety and operational requirements.

Enforce workshop safety protocols, ensure correct tool utilization, and oversee the environmentally responsible management of oils, fuel, and waste materials.

Maintain precise records of maintenance activities, service histories, fuel consumption, and repair documentation for all fleet and equipment.
