JOB DESCRIPTION:

Honda TEC Ghana Limited, a prominent entity in the assembly and distribution of heavy-duty and light-duty vehicles, operates a state-of-the-art facility in Team, Ghana. Dedicated to supplying superior commercial and private vehicles to the Ghanaian market, the company is currently recruiting a meticulous and proactive Warehouse Officer. The successful candidate will oversee the management of inventory, parts, and materials within the assembly plant’s warehouse operations.

Oversee a range of critical duties encompassing project management, team leadership, and strategic planning to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to maintain high standards of operational excellence. Serve as a liaison between senior management and staff, fostering transparent communication and alignment with company goals. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective actions as needed. Additionally, mentor team members, provide professional development opportunities, and cultivate a culture of accountability and innovation.

Team, situated in Ghana, serves as the designated workplace for this position.

The position is accountable to the Assembly Plant Manager.

Responsibilities include accepting and processing incoming deliveries of knockdown (KD) parts, components, and consumables.

Ensure that received inventory aligns precisely with the specified quantities, part numbers, and quality standards as outlined in the delivery notes, purchase orders, and packing lists.

Immediately bring any discrepancies, damages, or non-conformities to the attention of the procurement team.

• Organize and allocate bin locations for parts while implementing FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or FEFO (First-Expire-First-Out) storage methodologies to ensure efficient inventory rotation.

Ensure the warehouse environment remains orderly, meticulously organized, and clearly labeled to accommodate both heavy-duty and light-duty vehicle parts.

Heavy components must be stored securely to safeguard against damage and ensure efficient retrieval.

Responsible for ensuring the precision of inventory data through the utilization of the company’s ERP or warehouse management system.

• Perform cycle counts and contribute to monthly and quarterly physical inventory counts.

Monitor stock levels vigilantly and promptly initiate reorder alerts for high-priority and high-demand components to prevent shortages.

Issue materials and components to assembly line technicians in accordance with authorized requisition documentation, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of required items.

Maintain accurate daily records documenting all receipts, issues, returns, and transfers. Ensure logs are updated consistently and reflect all transactions with precision.

• Generate weekly and monthly warehouse reports detailing stock status, slow-moving items, and discrepancies.

Enforce adherence to established safety protocols, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), adherence to safe lifting techniques, and proper stacking procedures.

Ensure the proper storage of hazardous materials, including batteries, oils, and lubricants, in adherence to all applicable environmental and safety regulations.

Ensure fire exits remain unobstructed, extinguishers are operational, and emergency equipment stays readily available at all times.

Responsibilities include overseeing and mentoring warehouse staff, forklift operators, and temporary laborers to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.

Collaborate closely with procurement, production, and quality control teams to facilitate uninterrupted material flow throughout operations.

Required competencies include strong interpersonal abilities to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, along with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis, is essential, along with the capacity to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats. Candidates must demonstrate adaptability to evolving priorities and technological advancements, ensuring seamless integration into dynamic work environments. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to established policies and procedures is also necessary.

A bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a comparable discipline is required.

Professional certification, such as CULT or SAP certification, would be considered a beneficial qualification.

Candidates should possess 2–3 years of relevant experience gained within warehouse or stores operations, specifically within manufacturing, automotive assembly, or heavy equipment sectors.

Proficiency in managing automotive spare parts or engineering components is strongly desired.

• Demonstrates extensive expertise in FIFO (First In, First Out) methodologies, inventory management protocols, and barcoding technology solutions.

Demonstrates a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, particularly in creating and managing stock reports efficiently.

• Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and ensures numerical precision in all tasks.

Demonstrates exceptional organizational prowess and adept problem-solving skills.

Maintains composure and efficiency amidst high-pressure situations, particularly during peak assembly periods.
