The Community Relations Manager (CRM) is tasked with fostering strong, mutually beneficial relationships between AURORAL and the local communities to secure a reliable workforce, thereby enhancing AURORAL’s sustainability and appeal as an employer for youth and women across its operational regions.
Our role involves fostering strong connections with key stakeholders and effectively managing those relationships to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. This includes identifying critical stakeholders, understanding their needs and expectations, and developing strategies to engage them proactively. Additionally, the position requires maintaining open communication channels, addressing concerns promptly, and building trust to support collaborative decision-making and sustainable partnerships.
Develop and implement initiatives aimed at fostering community growth and engagement, ensuring sustainable progress and inclusivity. Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify needs, design tailored programs, and allocate resources effectively. Monitor program outcomes, gather feedback, and adjust strategies to maximize impact and community satisfaction. Possess a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public administration, or a related field, with at least three years of experience in community development, program management, or a similar role. Handle employee disputes, complaints, and grievances with professionalism and impartiality, ensuring fair and timely resolution in accordance with organizational policies and labor regulations. Investigate issues thoroughly, document findings accurately, and recommend appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Mediate between conflicting parties, fostering open communication and collaborative problem-solving while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity to workplace dynamics. Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory standards and secure the necessary social licenses to operate by maintaining compliance with local, national, and international laws, as well as industry-specific guidelines. Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that align with ethical practices and community expectations, mitigating risks associated with non-compliance. Collaborate with legal, governmental, and community stakeholders to address regulatory inquiries, resolve disputes, and foster transparent communication. Monitor emerging regulatory trends and legislative changes to proactively adjust strategies, ensuring sustained operational legitimacy and minimizing disruptions to business activities.
Engages directly with farmers and suppliers to maintain strong partnerships and ensure a consistent flow of high-quality agricultural products. Facilitates contract negotiations, pricing agreements, and delivery schedules to meet production and inventory demands. Monitors supplier performance, including quality control, timeliness, and compliance with contractual terms. Addresses any issues or discrepancies promptly to uphold reliability and mutual trust. Collaborates with procurement teams to forecast demand, align supply strategies, and optimize sourcing decisions. Serves as a liaison between stakeholders to streamline communication and resolve any logistical or operational challenges.
The role requires strong communication skills to convey complex information clearly and accurately to stakeholders at all levels. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting detailed reports, ensuring they are comprehensive and accessible. To implement and oversee a robust community grievance mechanism, ensuring complaints from community members are received, documented, and resolved promptly and transparently.
Proactively assess the community landscape to detect emerging tensions or potential conflicts, then design and implement targeted mitigation strategies to address and resolve them effectively.
Skilled in facilitating negotiations among the company, agricultural producers, and local organizations to reach mutually satisfactory settlements.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of grievances and their resolutions to facilitate accurate reporting and analysis.
To uphold the company’s “social license to operate” across all host communities, ensuring alignment with local expectations and fostering sustainable relationships.
Ensure adherence to both national and international regulations governing community engagement, environmental and social impact, and human rights.
Facilitate communication and collaboration with governmental entities and regulatory authorities regarding community-focused initiatives.
The role involves collaborating closely with the sourcing team to cultivate and sustain robust partnerships with smallholder farmers and fruit suppliers integral to the company’s supply chain.
