Purpose Statement

To guarantee the secure and effective functioning of all electrical systems within the LPG tank farm in Ghana, encompassing electrical panels, generators, gas detection systems, and metering/instrumentation, while adhering to the regulatory standards set by Ghana’s Energy Commission, EPA Ghana, and OSHA-equivalent requirements.

Key Deliverables

• The Maintenance Supervisor reports directly to the designated Line Manager, ensuring operational alignment and performance oversight within the maintenance team.

Implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for electrical panels, generators, gas detection systems, lighting systems, cooling units, and the electrical components of pumps and compressors.

Conduct thorough inspections of cabling, grounding systems, and protective devices to ensure electrical safety and mitigate potential hazards.

Diagnose and resolve faults within electrical equipment and control systems through systematic troubleshooting methods.

• Diagnose and remediate faulty components to ensure prompt restoration of safe and reliable operations while minimizing downtime.

Monitor electrical systems to verify adherence to LPG safety standards and operational protocols.

Ensure the continuous functionality of gas detectors, alarm systems, and control panels.

Maintain detailed records of electrical performance metrics and energy consumption to ensure accurate tracking and analysis.

Compiles and submits consistent reports on electrical systems, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual assessments.

Oversee contractors and vendors engaged in electrical projects, ensuring strict adherence to all safety protocols and LPG regulations throughout the process.

Compile comprehensive depot equipment reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis for distribution to Management and key stakeholders.

To oversee the installation and maintenance of depot electrical and panel systems, cooling systems, pumps, tanks, piping and associated components, metering systems (both electrical and process fluid), power generators, and general facility works, hands-on technical proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues is essential.

Conduct performance evaluations, perform cost analysis, nominate vendors, provide justification for approvals, and oversee work execution in strict adherence to established quality and volume standards.

Conduct routine daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual inspections of equipment to verify operational integrity, while implementing and overseeing both in-house and outsourced preventive maintenance strategies to minimize overall equipment breakdown maintenance costs.

Collaborate effectively with colleagues to help achieve the organization’s strategic objectives and drive business success.

Hard skills necessary for this role include proficiency in data analysis techniques, familiarity with statistical software such as R or Python, and experience with database management systems like SQL. Certifications in Electrical Installation, such as the ECG/Energy Commission Ghana license, along with HSE certification or expertise in hazardous area installations (ALEX/IEC Ex), are advantageous.

Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is preferred but not mandatory, as full training will be provided.
