Purpose Statement

To uphold the operational integrity and safe functioning of mechanical systems—including pumps, compressors, tanks, valves, and pipelines—at the LPG tank farm in Ghana, while ensuring strict adherence to regulations set by EPA Ghana, the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), and the Department of Factories Inspectorate.

Key Deliverables

Conduct routine inspections and servicing to uphold operational efficiency and minimize downtime by identifying potential issues before they escalate into critical failures. Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and component adjustments, to ensure machinery and systems remain in optimal working condition. Utilize diagnostic tools and follow manufacturer guidelines to assess performance metrics and detect early signs of wear or malfunction. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including dates, findings, and actions taken, to support compliance with regulatory standards and facilitate future reference. Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to extend equipment lifespan and reduce unexpected breakdowns, thereby enhancing overall productivity and safety.

Performs corrective maintenance to restore equipment and systems to optimal operating condition, addressing malfunctions, faults, or performance degradation. Troubleshoots issues using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and established procedures to identify root causes. Executes repairs, replacements, or adjustments as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and manufacturer specifications. Documents maintenance activities, including details of issues found, actions taken, and parts used, for accurate record-keeping and future reference. • Arrange routine maintenance for compressors, pumps, storage tanks, pipelines, and valves to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

• Inspect welds, flanges, and hoses for leaks to comply with LPG HSSE standards in Ghana.

Inspect, diagnose, and restore functionality to pumps, compressors, and pipeline systems.

Replace outdated components with materials that meet all regulatory standards and approval requirements.

Monitor pressure vessels, relief valves, and tank integrity to ensure compliance with General Services Administration (GSA) standards.

Maintain detailed performance logs to support both internal assessments and regulatory audits.

Prepare comprehensive maintenance reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory compliance audits to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities include overseeing mechanical contractors and vendors to ensure strict compliance with Ghana’s established safety regulations and codes.

Compile regular reports—spanning daily, weekly, monthly, and annual intervals—on depot equipment for submission to management and relevant stakeholders.

• To superintend over depot mechanical/panel setup, cooling system, pumps, tanks, piping and ancillaries, metering systems, power generator and general facility works. Hands-on ability in maintaining/resolving technical issues is key.

Conduct performance evaluations, cost analysis, vendor selection, and approval justifications while overseeing work execution to ensure adherence to approved quality standards and specified volumes.

Perform regular inspections—daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annually, and annually—to assess equipment condition and ensure optimal performance. Implement and oversee both in-house and outsourced preventive maintenance programs strategically to minimize breakdown occurrences and reduce overall maintenance costs effectively.
