To oversee the mid-term assessment of the Championing Nutrition and Gender Equality (CHANGE) Project in Ghana.

Evaluate the existing nutrition and healthcare service landscape, with a focus on the most impoverished and underserved populations—especially women and children—within the designated communities.

Review the progress of critical outcome and output-level indicators as defined in the project’s Performance Measurement Framework (PMF).

Conduct in-depth evaluations of perspectives shared by community members, local stakeholders, and prospective partners on the development, handling, and preservation of nutrient-rich foods, as well as issues of food security and the resilience of the community.

Evaluate the factors—both enabling and limiting—that shape the incorporation of gender-responsive nutrition strategies within district-level policies and programs.

Analyze contextual, programmatic, and institutional factors to determine how they either advance or impede progress toward established objectives.

Produce practical insights and strategic suggestions that will inform project adjustments and drive improved performance throughout the remaining implementation phase.

Primary data collection may encompass methods such as surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (Kids), and structured observation, contingent upon the methodology proposed for the project.

A comprehensive review of secondary data must encompass project reports, baseline findings, district and regional health and nutrition data, as well as other pertinent literature.

All methods and tools employed must facilitate disaggregation by sex and age when applicable.

The consultant is required to employ participatory, inclusive, and ethically grounded approaches while adhering to Children Believe’s stringent child safeguarding protocols, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) policies, data protection standards, and privacy regulations.

The inception report must encompass a refined methodology, a detailed work plan, a well-defined sampling approach, a structured data collection plan, and robust quality assurance arrangements.

Approved both quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments to ensure methodological rigor and accuracy in research endeavors.

Responsibilities include conducting fieldwork and gathering data within the designated project areas.

Prepare a comprehensive mid-term evaluation report that clearly outlines findings, conducts thorough analysis, and presents well-founded conclusions and actionable recommendations.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

With a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience, the candidate should have progressively advanced expertise in executing participatory evaluations, studies, or reviews of intricate health, nutrition, MNCH, or gender-focused programs.

Experienced professionals with a proven track record in Ghana are sought, particularly in domains such as nutrition, maternal and child health, public health, gender equality, or community development.

A demonstrated proficiency in gender analysis is essential; ideally, the team will include a dedicated gender specialist to ensure comprehensive integration of gender considerations.
