To perform an interim assessment of the Championing Nutrition and Gender Equality (CHANGE) Project in Ghana.

Conduct a thorough evaluation of the existing nutrition and health service infrastructure, with a focus on underserved and vulnerable groups—especially women and children—within the specified communities.

Review the progress of essential outcome and indicators as defined in the project’s Performance Measurement Framework (PMF).

Conduct in-depth evaluations of input gathered from community members, local stakeholders, and prospective partners to assess perspectives on the generation, processing, and preservation of nutrient-rich foods, along with food security and the enhancement of community resilience.

Evaluate factors—both enabling and limiting—that affect the incorporation of gender-responsive nutrition strategies into district-level policies and programming.

• Identify contextual, programmatic, and institutional factors that contribute to progress or limit the achievement of planned targets.

Develop practical insights and strategic suggestions to steer project adjustments and improve overall performance throughout the remainder of the implementation phase.

Primary data collection may encompass surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (Kids), and structured observation, as deemed appropriate by the proposed research methodology.

For the secondary data review, compile and analyze project reports, baseline findings, as well as district and regional health and nutrition data, alongside any other pertinent literature.

All methodologies and instruments employed must facilitate disaggregation by sex and age wherever deemed appropriate.

• The consultant must apply participatory, inclusive, and ethically sound methods, and comply with Children Believe’s child safeguarding, PSEA, data protection, and privacy requirements.

The inception report must comprehensively outline the refined methodology, establish a detailed work plan, define the sampling strategy, specify the data collection plan, and delineate the quality assurance measures.

Approved both quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments following established protocols and standards.

Fieldwork and data collection will be conducted within the designated project regions.

• Prepare a comprehensive mid-term evaluation report that outlines key findings, provides in-depth analysis, summarizes conclusions, and offers actionable recommendations.

A comprehensive mid-term evaluation report of roughly 30 pages, not including annexes, is required.

Professional experience demonstrating practical application in Ghana across one or more of the following domains is essential: nutrition, maternal and child health, public health, gender equality, or community development.
