Duties are carried out under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.
Oversee the execution of project activities across the designated region, guaranteeing that all initiatives align with approved work plans, established timelines, allocated budgets, and recognized carbon standards—including Terra, Gold Standard, and other pertinent certification frameworks.
Support the facilitation and integration of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable rice production methodologies among enrolled farmers.
Engage and activate rice farmers, Water User Associations (Was), community leaders, and additional stakeholders to promote active involvement and seamless project execution.
• Conduct training sessions, demonstration plots, and farmer field learning activities focused on sustainable agriculture, crop management, efficient water use, Alternative Wetting and Drying (AWD) practices, and other climate-smart interventions to enhance agricultural knowledge and practices.
Facilitate the seamless installation, ongoing monitoring, and routine maintenance of AWD tubes, sensors, and other field technologies. Additionally, provide support for the deployment and utilization of digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems.
• Coordinate field data collection and oversee the monitoring of soil organic carbon (SOC), greenhouse gas emission reductions, water use, crop yields, farm management practices, and other project indicators required for carbon accounting and verification.
Ensure meticulous maintenance of project records, databases, and documentation, adhering to carbon certification requirements and established project reporting standards.
Develop and sustain productive collaborations with GINA regional offices, District Assemblies, traditional authorities, farmer organizations, community stakeholders, and project partners.
Compile and submit precise weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring they encompass project progress updates, field activity documentation, success stories, insightful lessons learned, and comprehensive records of challenges encountered and milestones attained.
Provide assistance throughout project validation, verification, and audit procedures, while also contributing to the creation of comprehensive reports and documentation as mandated by project partners, carbon certification authorities, auditors, and validators.
Identify potential risks associated with implementation, devise and execute strategies to mitigate these issues, and assist in resolving operational challenges effectively.
Ensure adherence to environmental and social safeguards, donor prerequisites, project-specific policies, and all relevant regulatory as well as carbon market standards.
Supervise and mentor field officers, community facilitators, enumerators, and other relevant project personnel to uphold high standards in project execution and successfully meet project objectives.
Required skills include a minimum of five years of professional experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies is essential, along with strong leadership abilities to guide cross-functional teams. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and possess a deep understanding of risk management and stakeholder engagement strategies. Familiarity with industry-standard project management tools and software, such as Jira, Asana, or Trello, is also required. Additionally, a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience is mandatory.
