The Social Media Manager serves as the ministry’s ongoing representative across all digital platforms, ensuring consistent, timely content distribution in the appropriate format and on the intended channel, paired with engaging captions. This role involves overseeing the online community that emerges from this content, addressing comments, elevating sensitive discussions to pastoral leadership, and fostering engagement that transforms followers into active partners or event participants.

Your responsibilities involve strategic deployment of content and nurturing the community it fosters, rather than the creation of the content itself, which is handled by the rest of the team.

Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to ensure organizational goals are met efficiently and effectively. Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of productivity. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align initiatives, resolve challenges, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability. Analyze complex data, assess risks, and make data-driven decisions to optimize resource allocation and enhance overall business performance. Serve as a key liaison with stakeholders, including executives, clients, and partners, to communicate objectives, negotiate agreements, and cultivate strong professional relationships. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and ethical guidelines while promoting a safe and inclusive work environment. Lead initiatives to identify growth opportunities, streamline processes, and implement scalable solutions that support long-term success. Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to cultivate talent, enhance skill development, and drive team engagement.

Schedule and distribute all content across various social media platforms—including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube—utilizing a scheduling tool as needed, while ensuring alignment with the established editorial calendar.

Monitor platform comment sections on a daily basis, engaging with general interactions, escalating spiritually sensitive discussions or prayer requests to pastoral teams for follow-up, and enforcing community standards by moderating inappropriate content.

Oversee direct messages received across various platforms, ensuring inquiries are promptly directed to the appropriate contacts for resolution.

To fulfill this role, maintain a weekly engagement log that documents comment and direct message volumes, as well as any significant community interactions, and compile these details into a concise summary for the weekly digital report.

Collaborate with the Content Designer to establish and manage caption scheduling, and liaise with the Video Editor to ensure adherence to platform-specific formatting requirements prior to content publication.

Support event amplification efforts for summits and other ministry functions by delivering live posts, dynamic story updates, and immediate audience engagement in real time.

Identify emerging faith-based discussions and cultural events that resonate with the ministry’s target audience, then highlight them to the Creative Director as potential avenues for content creation.

Demonstrated proficiency in relevant technical or professional competencies is essential. Candidates must possess a strong command of industry-specific tools and methodologies. Effective communication and collaboration skills are also required to interact successfully with colleagues and stakeholders. The ability to analyze complex information and solve problems efficiently is highly valued. Additionally, familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements is often necessary. Experience in project management or team leadership may be advantageous, depending on the role.

What You Bring

A minimum of two years of professional experience in social media management is required, with proven expertise across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
