We are seeking an experienced individual to fill this vital role, responsible for managing a diverse range of tasks while ensuring optimal performance. MAA is currently seeking skilled, experienced, and driven professionals to fill the roles with Electrical – Instrumentation Technician, Radio Technician, and Auto Electrician for its team. Performs maintenance, installation, and repair of radio communication systems. Installs and configures radio equipment, including antennas, transmitters, and receivers. Conducts routine inspections to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with industry standards. Diagnoses and troubleshoots technical issues, replacing faulty components as needed. Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance. Collaborates with engineers and other technicians to implement upgrades and improvements. Ensures all installations adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Provides technical support to end-users and resolves operational challenges efficiently.

The Electrical Foreman will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of radio communication systems and equipment utilized in mining operations. This position is tasked with ensuring reliable communication channels between operational teams to enhance safety, operational efficiency, and on-site coordination.

Oversee and execute a range of essential duties and responsibilities to ensure operational success and adherence to established protocols. Provide leadership in managing day-to-day activities, fostering collaboration across teams, and maintaining high standards of performance. Address challenges proactively, implement strategic solutions, and monitor progress to achieve organizational objectives. Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and industry best practices while promoting efficiency and accountability. Serve as a key liaison between departments, stakeholders, and senior management to facilitate seamless communication and alignment of goals.

Install, configure, and evaluate radio communication systems and their components, such as portable radios, base stations, repeaters, antennas, and related equipment to ensure optimal functionality and performance.

Perform preventive maintenance and regular inspections on radio communication systems to verify and sustain optimal performance.

Diagnose and expeditiously resolve any malfunctions encountered in radio communication equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.

Replace or repair malfunctioning components promptly to reduce operational interruptions.

Regularly assess and update firmware and software components of communication systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

Monitor radio frequency (RF) networks to detect any potential interference and verify adherence to applicable regulatory standards.

Responsible for keeping precise records of equipment inventory, as well as documenting repairs and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Deliver comprehensive training sessions and offer expert technical assistance to users of radio communication systems.

Ensure communication devices are utilized and maintained correctly to maximize their operational longevity and reliability.

Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory standards when operating communication equipment.

Demonstrate adherence to all relevant local and global communication regulations and guidelines.

Ensure safety by strictly complying with all established mining safety protocols, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to safety guidelines to mitigate the risk of accidents.

Attend safety meetings regularly and actively contribute to fostering a secure work environment.

Prepare diverse daily, weekly, and monthly reports in accordance with specified requirements.

Required Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and spreadsheet management. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with keen attention to detail, are essential. Prior experience in project coordination or administrative support roles is highly valued. Familiarity with CRM software and basic accounting principles is a plus.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering from a reputable university is required, along with at least five years of hands-on experience in hard rock underground mining environments. Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma in Electrical/Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering may qualify if they have a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in hard rock underground mining operations.

Applicants are required to hold a valid Ghanaian driver’s license for Classes C and E, with proficiency in operating manual transmission SUVs in underground environments.

• Demonstrated expertise in operating radio communication systems, including VHF/UHF radios and RF equipment.

Able to effectively interact and collaborate with both operational and non-operational employees and contractors, demonstrating exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in the Mining Act and its associated regulatory frameworks governing mining operations within the Republic of Ghana is essential.

Proficient in utilizing signal analysis tools and diagnostic equipment.

Proficiency in analyzing technical manuals and schematics with accuracy is required.

Demonstrates a capacity for rapid skill acquisition and proficiency in guiding, instructing, and developing fellow team members.
