The hospital seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform and assist with the seamless processing, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of laboratory test results from specimens submitted to the Laboratory department, thereby supporting clinical technical services in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilties

Demonstrates strong communication abilities and fosters effective working relationships to ensure seamless collaboration and productivity within the team.

Conduct tests and procedures in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide on-the-job training to colleagues.

Perform analytical duties efficiently within stringent deadlines while providing guidance and support to junior laboratory personnel under your mentorship.

Accurately and safely perform routine maintenance and performance checks on equipment with minimal oversight, promptly reporting any faults to the Unit Supervisor.

Follow established protocols while upholding a personal responsibility to ensure laboratory equipment and facilities remain in optimal condition.

Utilize the laboratory computer system to perform the following tasks: manage data entry and retrieval, generate detailed reports, and ensure precise record-keeping in compliance with regulatory standards. Operate specialized software for data analysis, maintain system integrity by troubleshooting issues, and safeguard sensitive information through secure access protocols. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate data accuracy and support seamless workflow integration.

Input requests are processed and correlated with corresponding patient records to ensure accurate data alignment.

Prepare and compile data into comprehensive printed reports and ensure timely submission of results.

Develop comprehensive worksheets or lists to meet specified requirements.

Conduct thorough tests to verify the identity of microorganisms, ensuring accurate and reliable results through established laboratory protocols.

Perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing as required to determine the effectiveness of various antimicrobial agents against specific pathogens.

• Exhibit proficiency in operating various automated machinery and traditional tools.

• Conduct assays using suitable analyzers while interpreting the significance and implications of the results obtained.

Conduct necessary quality inspections and accurately document findings on the designated quality record sheets.

May perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the facility head.

• Foster clear, consistent communication with colleagues, professional networks, and clients to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Able to collaborate seamlessly within a diverse team of healthcare professionals at the facility.

Collaborate professionally with Laboratory Attendants and other Laboratory Assistants in a collegial and cooperative manner.

Actively participate in and provide input during scheduled staff meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members.

Maintain a personal performance log as well as an in-service training log to facilitate evaluation and assessment processes.

Required competencies include proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling, along with advanced spreadsheet capabilities. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex financial statements. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting insights to stakeholders. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is preferred, as well as a solid understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial analysis or a related field is mandatory, supported by a relevant degree or professional certification.

Hold a Technician Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Requires a minimum of one year of practical experience in the relevant field.

Demonstrated excellence and a strong track record of achievement within laboratory settings are essential.
