Context and justification

With the backing of the European Union, Corinth initiated the Gold for Good project in northern Ghana earlier this year, designed to enhance conflict-sensitive governance, environmental accountability, and institutional coordination in communities impacted by artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM). The program seeks to bolster the operational capabilities of local authorities, security providers, and regulatory bodies to advance responsible natural resource stewardship and foster peaceful community dynamics.

Corinth is seeking a Technical Coordinator – Peace and Security to spearhead the technical and operational readiness of the upcoming initiative, overseeing critical dimensions such as security protocols, enforcement measures, and conflict prevention strategies.

Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align projects with company goals, monitor progress, and address any challenges that arise. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to enhance productivity and accountability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, manage budgets, allocate resources, and assess risks to maintain financial stability and operational resilience.

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Technical Coordinator for Peace and Security will deliver expert technical guidance, oversee coordination efforts, and ensure quality assurance across key areas, including security governance, law enforcement collaboration, and conflict-sensitive artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) management.

The incumbent will collaborate with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and communities to establish coordinated, rights-based, and trust-building enforcement and oversight mechanisms for natural resource governance.

Providing strategic technical leadership and overseeing cross-functional coordination are essential responsibilities of this role. The position demands a strong ability to guide technical teams, align project objectives with business goals, and ensure seamless collaboration across departments.

The role involves delivering capacity-building initiatives and providing technical support and guidance to enhance performance and efficiency across various projects or initiatives.

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance, Monitoring, and Learning (QA-ML) Specialist to oversee and enhance our programmatic and operational standards. Conditions

Technical Coordinator – Peace and Security is responsible for overseeing and facilitating technical initiatives within the peace and security sector.

Relocated to Bole, Ghana, with regular deployments to northern districts.

The position is offered for a fixed-term contract spanning twelve months.

We are seeking a full-time candidate to fill this position, requiring a commitment of 100% of the standard work schedule.

• The incumbent will report to the Operations Manager, who serves as their direct supervisor.

Offer expert technical advice on the technical aspects of peace and security within natural resource and artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) governance frameworks.

Direct the strategic planning and execution of diagnostic evaluations, capacity assessments, and institutional analyses across designated districts, ensuring comprehensive oversight and methodological rigor throughout each phase.

Facilitate seamless collaboration between law enforcement agencies, environmental organizations, and regulatory bodies to strengthen accountability and maximize operational efficiency.

Ensure the diagnostics, trainings, action plans, and tools created throughout the project adhere to stringent technical and methodological benchmarks.

Ensure that conflict sensitivity, human rights, gender considerations, and environmental safeguards are fully integrated into all interventions.

Facilitate the establishment and implementation of collaborative coordination frameworks among District Assemblies (DISEC’s), District Municipalities (DMCs), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Minerals Commission, law enforcement agencies including the Police and Immigration, as well as traditional authorities.

Provide appropriate assistance for integrating project outcomes into district and national frameworks, such as ASM Action Plans, DMC structures, and EPA monitoring systems.

Conduct thorough evaluations of technical reports, training modules, and consultant deliverables to ensure their accuracy and compliance with established standards.

Responsible for designing and implementing customized training programs specifically for enforcement, environmental, and governance professionals.

• Organize and, when necessary, co-lead technical workshops and training-of-trainers sessions to enhance participant engagement and learning outcomes.

Offer expert technical guidance and mentorship to district-level institutions, such as District Mission Committees (DMCs), District Secondary Education Committees (DISEC’s), and Assemblies.

Provide assistance during joint field operations, inspection missions, and environmental monitoring visits involving multiple agencies.

• Uphold strategies that are grounded in community engagement, anchored in human rights principles, and adaptable to the nuances of local security dynamics and governance frameworks.

Review and authenticate technical outputs, instructional resources, and consultant-generated deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Provide support to the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) framework by conducting technical data collection and performing comprehensive analysis.

Document lessons learned and best practices arising from coordinated enforcement initiatives while ensuring their effective dissemination to relevant stakeholders.

Provide assistance in enhancing intervention strategies through adaptive management and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Serve as the central liaison for Corinth, interfacing with academic collaborators such as Mat, regulatory bodies, and local organizations to address technical inquiries and facilitate collaboration.

Translate field data, assessments, and research findings into clear, actionable operational recommendations to drive informed decision-making and strategic improvements.

Collaborate on conducting the mid-term review and final evaluation, systematically compiling evidence-based insights and key lessons learned.

• This position is offered on a fixed-term contractual basis.

A 12-month contract term is required for this position.
