Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions in heavy-duty vehicles, including Sitrak and How models, as well as earthmoving equipment such as Shanty bulldozers and loaders.
Perform a range of preventive maintenance tasks, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system servicing, suspension adjustments, and steering system maintenance.
Perform necessary welding and fabrication repairs on chassis, frames, and related attachments to ensure structural integrity and functionality.
Leverage diagnostic tools and reference service manuals to accurately diagnose issues and subsequently execute remedial measures.
Accurately document all repairs performed, including parts utilized, and labor hours expended, ensuring thorough and up-to-date record-keeping.
• It is imperative to verify that all tasks adhere strictly to manufacturer guidelines and established safety protocols.
Responsible for overseeing the inventory of frequently utilized spare parts and providing guidance on reordering procedures.
Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics or apprentices as needed, fostering their professional development and ensuring their tasks are completed to the highest standards.
Required Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, project management, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with statistical software such as SPSS or SAS is preferred. Strong communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting findings to stakeholders. Ability to interpret complex data sets into actionable insights. Experience with database management and query languages like SQL is a plus.
A Technical/Vocational Certificate in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Demonstrates a minimum of three to five years of practical experience with heavy-duty trucks and construction machinery from leading Chinese manufacturers such as Shanty, Streak, How, or comparable brands.
Proficient in diesel engines, as well as hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems, with a solid understanding of their operations and functionalities.
Skilled in operating diagnostic scanners, multimeters, and conventional mechanic tools effectively.
Proficient in interpreting technical diagrams and service manuals written in English.
Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy components, and comfortable working in various outdoor and workshop settings.
