JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Perform comprehensive diagnostics to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy-duty vehicles, including models like Sitrak and How, as well as earthmoving equipment such as Shanty bulldozers and loaders.
Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance, engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system servicing, suspension adjustments, and steering system diagnostics and corrections to ensure optimal vehicle functionality and safety.
Perform welding and fabrication repairs on chassis, frames, and related attachments as required to maintain structural integrity and operational functionality.
Utilize diagnostic equipment and follow service manuals to accurately diagnose problems and execute appropriate corrective measures.
Ensure meticulous documentation of all repair activities, including the specific parts utilized and the total labor hours expended.
Ensure adherence to all manufacturer specifications and safety standards in every aspect of the work performed.
Responsible for overseeing the stock of frequently utilized replacement components and providing guidance on procurement timing and quantities.
Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics and apprentices as needed, fostering their professional development and ensuring high standards of workmanship.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics, along with at least three years of hands-on experience in software development or a closely related discipline. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++ is essential, as is familiarity with database management systems and version control tools. Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams are also necessary. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A Technical/Vocational Certificate in Mechanical Engineering is required.
With a minimum of three to five years of practical experience working with heavy-duty trucks and construction machinery from leading Chinese manufacturers such as Shanty, Streak, How, or comparable brands, candidates should demonstrate a strong technical foundation in maintenance, diagnostics, and operational efficiency.
Individuals should possess comprehensive expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and pneumatic systems to effectively perform in this role.
Proven expertise in operating diagnostic scanners, multimeters, and standard automotive tools is required.
Proficient in interpreting technical diagrams and service manuals written in English.
Physically capable of handling strenuous tasks, including lifting substantial components and operating effectively in outdoor or workshop environments.
