JOB DESCRIPTION:
Purpose Statement
To guarantee the safe and reliable functioning of all electrical systems at the LPG tank farm in Ghana, encompassing electrical panels, generators, gas detection systems, and metering/instrumentation, while adhering to the regulatory requirements set by Ghana’s Energy Commission, EPA Ghana, and OSHA-equivalent standards.
Key Deliverables
Perform scheduled inspections and upkeep to ensure equipment operates efficiently and to minimize unexpected failures. Conduct regular assessments to identify potential issues before they escalate, maintaining optimal performance and extending asset lifespan. Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols throughout all maintenance activities.
Perform corrective maintenance tasks to restore equipment or systems to optimal operating conditions following malfunctions or failures, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient restoration of functionality. Diagnose issues using established procedures and tools, identify root causes, and implement timely repairs to prevent recurring problems. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts replaced, and time spent, adhering to company policies and industry regulations. Collaborate with team members to coordinate repair schedules and prioritize tasks based on urgency and resource availability, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards throughout the process.
Equipment Monitoring & Safety
The role involves overseeing the continuous tracking of machinery performance to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols. Key responsibilities include conducting regular inspections, analyzing equipment data for potential risks, and implementing preventive maintenance measures. Additionally, the position requires ensuring compliance with industry regulations, documenting maintenance activities, and reporting any safety incidents or malfunctions. Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot issues promptly are essential. Effective communication skills are necessary to coordinate with maintenance teams and report findings to management.
Supervision and Reporting
Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing team performance and ensuring accurate reporting of progress against established metrics. You will lead regular check-ins to assess individual and collective contributions, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback. Additionally, you will be accountable for compiling and presenting detailed performance reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and actionable recommendations. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities include scheduling tasks, assigning work orders, and providing technical guidance to maintain equipment and facilities. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of maintenance procedures. Additionally, the supervisor must ensure compliance with regulatory standards and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for electrical panels, generators, gas detection systems, lighting, cooling systems, and the electrical components of pumps and compressors.
Conduct thorough examinations of cabling, grounding systems, and protective devices to prevent potential electrical hazards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical equipment and control systems.
Repair or replace malfunctioning components to ensure the restoration of safe, efficient operations while minimizing downtime.
To ensure compliance with LPG safety standards, the selected candidate will be responsible for continuously monitoring the performance of electrical systems.
Ensure the continuous and reliable functioning of gas detectors, alarm systems, and control panels.
• Ensure accurate documentation of electrical performance and energy consumption through comprehensive log maintenance.
• Compile and present routine documentation—including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual evaluations—pertaining to electrical systems performance and status.
Oversee contractors and vendors engaged in electrical work to guarantee adherence to safety protocols and LPG regulations.
• Compile and present detailed daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports on depot equipment for review by management and stakeholders.
To oversee the installation and maintenance of depot electrical systems and panels, cooling infrastructure, pumps, tanks, piping and associated components, as well as metering systems for both electrical and process fluids. Additionally, responsibilities include the management and upkeep of power generators and general facility operations. Strong hands-on technical skills are essential for troubleshooting and resolving issues effectively.
• Carry out work appraisal, costing, vendor nomination, approval justification, supervision of work execution as per approved quality and volume.
Conduct regular inspections—daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annually, or annually—to assess equipment condition and uphold operational standards. Implement and oversee both in-house and outsourced preventive maintenance strategies to minimize equipment failures, optimize performance, and reduce overall breakdown maintenance expenditures.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience. Proficiency in financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit preparation is essential, as is a strong understanding of GAAP standards. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. Effective communication and collaboration skills are necessary to liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Prior experience with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, is preferred.
A strong understanding of key concepts and the ability to apply relevant skills are essential for success in this role. Proficiency in specific tools, techniques, or methodologies may be required, depending on the position’s demands. With a proven track record spanning 3 to 5 years, you will bring hands-on expertise in electrical maintenance specifically within the LPG or Oil & Gas sector, with a focus on operations in Ghana or broader West Africa.
Certification in Electrical Installation, such as the ECG/Energy Commission Ghana license, along with HSE or hazardous area installations credentials (ALEX/IEC Ex), is considered beneficial.
