Under the European Union’s sponsorship, Corinth initiated the Gold for Good project in northern Ghana earlier this year, designed to enhance conflict-sensitive governance, environmental accountability, and institutional coordination in regions impacted by artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM). The program seeks to bolster the operational capabilities of local authorities, security personnel, and regulatory bodies, fostering responsible natural resource stewardship and harmonious community dynamics.

Corinth is actively recruiting a Technical Coordinator – Peace and Security to oversee the security, enforcement, and conflict prevention aspects of this upcoming initiative, ensuring technical and operational preparedness.

Oversee a range of essential duties, including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to organizational standards. Conduct thorough evaluations of team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as needed. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align objectives and foster productive working relationships. Maintain meticulous documentation of progress, milestones, and outcomes to support transparency and accountability. Stay current with industry trends and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement.

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, the Technical Coordinator for Peace and Security will assume a leadership role in technical oversight, ensuring seamless coordination and rigorous quality assurance across critical areas such as security governance, law enforcement collaboration, and conflict-sensitive artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) management.

The successful candidate will collaborate with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and communities to establish coordinated, rights-based, and trust-enhancing enforcement and oversight mechanisms for natural resource governance.

Demonstrates strong technical oversight and collaborative direction to align team efforts with project objectives.

We provide training on capacity building and deliver technical backstopping to support organizational development and enhance operational effectiveness.

Quality Assurance, Monitoring, and Learning professionals are responsible for ensuring rigorous standards of performance, conducting systematic evaluations, and fostering continuous improvement through data-driven insights. Their role involves implementing robust monitoring frameworks to track progress, identifying deviations or inefficiencies, and recommending corrective actions to enhance operational effectiveness. By analyzing performance metrics and feedback, they assess program outcomes, measure impact, and derive actionable learnings to inform strategic decision-making and program refinement. Collaboration with stakeholders across departments ensures alignment with organizational goals while maintaining transparency and accountability in all assessments. Technical Coordinator – Peace and Security

The incumbent will oversee the coordination of technical initiatives within the realm of peace and security, ensuring seamless integration of strategies, resources, and stakeholders. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of peace building mechanisms, conflict resolution frameworks, and security sector governance to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing technical frameworks, providing guidance to project teams, and fostering collaboration between governmental bodies, international organizations, and local communities. Additionally, the position requires strong analytical skills to assess risks, monitor progress, and recommend evidence-based adjustments to policies or interventions. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in peace and security, preferably with a focus on technical coordination, is essential, along with proficiency in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.

• Position is based in Bole, Ghana, with regular travel requirements to northern districts.

The position is offered on a fixed-term basis for a duration of twelve months.

The position requires a full-time commitment, amounting to 100% of the standard work schedule.

• Reports directly to the Operations Manager as the primary point of contact for guidance and oversight.

Offer expert technical advice regarding the peace and security aspects of natural resource governance, with a specific emphasis on artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) practices.

• Spearhead the strategic planning and oversight of diagnostics, capacity evaluations, and institutional assessments within designated districts.

Facilitate seamless collaboration between law enforcement, environmental agencies, and regulatory bodies to strengthen accountability and optimize operational outcomes.

Ensure that all diagnostics, training programs, action plans, and tools created throughout the project adhere to stringent technical and methodological requirements.

Ensure that conflict sensitivity, human rights, gender considerations, and environmental safeguards are fully integrated into all interventions.

Assist in establishing and implementing inter-agency coordination frameworks involving DISEC’s, DMCs, EPA, Minerals Commission, Police, Immigration, and traditional authorities to ensure seamless collaboration and operational efficiency.

Provide appropriate assistance to integrate project deliverables into district and national frameworks, including ASM Action Plans, DMC structures, and EPA monitoring systems.

• Validate technical reports, training modules, and consultant deliverables through meticulous review.

We are responsible for designing and delivering customized training programs specifically tailored for enforcement, environmental, and governance professionals.

Facilitate and coordinate technical workshops and training-of-trainers sessions as required.

Offer guidance and support in technical matters to district-level institutions such as DMCs, DISEC’s, and Assemblies.

Provide assistance during joint field operations, inspection assignments, and environmental monitoring activities involving multiple agencies.

• Develop strategies that prioritize community engagement, uphold human rights principles, and adapt to the specific security and governance conditions of the local area.

Responsibilities include meticulously examining and confirming the accuracy of technical outputs, training resources, and deliverables provided by consultants.

Contribute to the development and enhancement of the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) framework by conducting technical data collection and analysis.

• Compile and share insights and effective strategies related to coordinated enforcement efforts and community outreach initiatives.

Facilitate the adaptation and ongoing enhancement of intervention strategies to ensure they remain effective and responsive to evolving needs.

Serves as the central liaison for technical communications among Corinth, Mat, regulatory entities, and local organizations.

Facilitate the conversion of field data, assessment results, and research conclusions into actionable operational recommendations.

Facilitate the mid-term review and final evaluation process by systematically documenting evidence-based insights and key lessons learned to inform future improvements.

• Contract duration: Limited-term agreement

A 12-month contract term is required for this position.

Previous experience leading projects or mentoring junior staff is highly desirable. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and best practices within the industry is a must.

Hold an advanced degree in Security Studies, Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, Environmental Governance, or a closely related discipline.

With a minimum of seven to ten years of hands-on experience in technical coordination or high-level advisory capacities within the realms of peace and security, law enforcement coordination, or conflict-sensitive governance, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise to the role.

Demonstrated proficiency in enhancing security governance frameworks, strengthening institutional capabilities, and fostering effective inter-agency collaboration is essential.

Experienced in liaising with law enforcement and regulatory bodies, including Police, EPA, Minerals Commission, Immigration, and Forestry agencies.

Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing conflict-sensitive initiatives, border governance frameworks, and community-centered policing strategies.

Proven expertise collaborating with governmental entities, municipal authorities, and customary leadership institutions across West Africa, with particular preference for candidates with prior engagement in Ghana.

Demonstrates extensive experience in fostering constructive dialogue and cultivating trust among state representatives and community stakeholders.

Proven experience in managing and supporting donor-funded initiatives, with a deep understanding of the unique requirements and operational frameworks associated with such programs.
